Drs. Doherty and Ajagbe won LASRIC research and innovation grant

Dr. Funmilayo V. Doherty and Dr. Ajagbe Eyitayo F. Both of the Department of Biological Sciences, Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, Nigeria have been awarded grants to the tune of Four Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N4,500,000) in the Lagos State Science and Research Council Research and Innovation Grant.

Dr. Funmilayo V. Doherty received a sum of Two Million Naira (N2,000,000) for her project titled “Developing a framework for the management of plastic pollution and capacity building of women and youth in Lagos State, while Dr. Ajagbe Eyitayo Folashade was awarded Two Million, Five Hundred Naira (N2,500,000) for her project titled “Microplastic pollution indices of bottled water from Lagos State, Nigeria.

The award followed a call for a grant application by LASRIC in the Research and Innovation field with a special focus on circular economy and cloud computing.

We wish both erudite scholars success in their research as they contribute their quota to solving plastic pollution problems in Africa.
