Oluniyi O. Fadare

Oluniyi Fadare is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the C-HaWQ Lab in the Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. He obtained his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Research Centre for Eco-Environmental Sciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. He earned his master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. Dr. Fadare has an interdisciplinary background with expertise in ecotoxicology, analytical and instrumentation techniques. He is a member of CAS-TWAS Young Scientists for Sustainable Development Goals

He employs spectroscopic techniques and molecular assays to understand the behavior and effects of micro(nano)plastics in different environmental matrices and their potential impact on humans. His present research focus is on the presence and interactions of mercury and plastic debris along the Lavaca, Matagorda, and San Antonio Bay, Coast of Texas within the Gulf of Mexico. Oluniyi is also involved in advocacy, policy formulation, and public enlightenment on the circular economy of single-use plastics.
